Written Specifications (Academy—WR)



BACK:
Outer back shall be ¾" thick nine ply hardwood core with plane sliced hardwood face veneer on rear side and 1" reveal on front side. Inner back shall be 7/16" molded five-ply hardwood. Outer back to be secured to inner back with four concealed fasteners. Bolts and threaded inserts shall be used in lieu of wood screws. Exposed screw heads on face of outer back are not acceptable. Back cushion shall be 1 ½" high density, cold-cured, contoured, molded foam.

SEAT:
Cushion to be 2 ½" high density, cold-cured foam with 9/16" molded seven-ply hardwood inner seat. Outer seat cover shall be ¾" nine-ply hardwood core with plane sliced hardwood face veneer. Outer seat cover to be secured to inner seat with concealed fasteners. All foam and fabric shall meet California Technical Bulletin #117. Metal or plastic seat buckets are not acceptable.

SEAT OPERATION:
Seat lift shall be gravity-lift system consisting of a seat axle and socket. The use of nuts and bolts for securing the seat to the standard is not acceptable. Seat component to be removable from chair frame without the use of tools.

SEAT ENVELOPE:
The back to seat dimension with the seat in the up position cannot exceed 18".

STANDARDS:
All floor standards shall be 1 ½" by 1 ½" continuous weld steel in an eleven-gauge minimum. All exposed steel components shall be painted with electrostatic epoxy polyester, oven baked to a thickness of 3 mils.

COVER PLATES:
Floor anchors, bolts, and foot plates shall be concealed with decorative nylon/fiberglass cover plates.

AISLE PANELS:
The configuration of the aisle panel shall follow the angle of the back at the rear side and shall be vertical at the front. Aisle panels shall be 9/16" thick, 7 ply, laminated hardwood core with plane sliced, hardwood face veneers on both sides. The edge of the panel shall be finished with 2" wide, shaped, hardwood framing. Face side to receive hardwood face veneer to harmonize with the outer back and under seat panel.

ADA PANELS:
ADA aisle panels shall hinge on rear side and swing out at ADA locations.

ARM CAPS:
Aisle arm caps shall be 8/4 hardwood stock, 2 ¾ " wide and shall receive a crown shaping from end to end and side to side. Caps shall be secured to standards with concealed fasteners consisting of two keyhole plates recessed in the underside of arm cap. Intermediate arm caps shall be identical to aisle arm caps with the exception of the width of 2 3/8".

HARDWARE:
All hardware shall be rustproof, solid black zinc.

NOISE TOLERANCE: Seat lift noise sh
